My name is Keith Tower.  My page is called The View from Seven Feet because I am seven feet tall.  The world looks a little different from this vantage.  For example, I have a birdseye view of people’s bald spots. (Thank goodness people can’t look directly down on mine!)

While being seven feet tall can have its inconveniences (folding up into an airline seat, scars from bumping my head going through doorways), it definitley has its advantages as well.  For example, I was able to play in the NBA because of my height.  I played for the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks over my career.  Another advantage is that I am easy to find in a crowd.  My kids don’t lose me at the mall or theme parks.  Also, my view is rarely blocked by the things that block other people’s view.  I can see over crowds at theatres and sporting events.  My kids get the advantage as well.  When I put them up on my shoulders, they can see clearly without obstruction.

On this blog, I intend to write about the unobstructed view that comes with being seven feet.  I certainly don’t claim to have it all together and know everything, but I have learned a few things about seeing clearly and lifting others to do the same.  Enjoy!

Keith, I discovered my bald spot a few years ago at a church where they had video of the service projected on a side screen. The reflection off the guys head beside me showed up bright on the screen. Then I noticed that he moved when I moved. Oops… it was me! I am about 6-3. Anyway, I enjoyed your posts.

Uncle Keith, we laughed reading your stories. We think it’s pretty cool having an uncle that’s 7 feet tall. Maybe next you should write about attempting the limbo. We love you!

Keith, glad to hear you are doing well. My friends and I were avid fans of yours while you were dominating down low for the Irish. Funny story that you may or may not recall is a time when we overheard you giving your phone number to some scout when we were in 7th grade. We called you and to our surprise you were willing to talk to us. We made signs, I think called Tower Power. It was a pleasure to watch you play and I am glad you are doing well. Look forward to continue reading your blog.

    Hello Keith,

I was recently talking to one of my sons 10 year old friends about growing up in Moon and they mentioned your name (he is an avid Basketball fan). Obviously, it made me wonder how you and your family are doing. I hope that all is well. Please let them know that the Dewit family is well and that we all say, “Hello!”. Take care and God Bless! She was one of my favorite people but after moving here 6 years ago I have lost track of her. If possible please pass on my contact info to her. God bless and take care. Tom
